Our Methodology & Editorial Policy

Transparency matters — especially for financial information. This page explains exactly where our data comes from, how we calculate the numbers you see on GmpUpdates, and the standards we hold our content to.

Where Our Data Comes From

Every figure on GmpUpdates is sourced from official or well-established providers, never from unverified rumours:

  • IPO details, financials & subscription — company offer documents (DRHP/RHP) and the NSE and BSE exchanges, cross-referenced with Chittorgarh.
  • Grey Market Premium (GMP) — aggregated daily from established GMP trackers, including InvestorGain.
  • Listing prices & performance — the exchanges’ official listing-day data.

Our data pipeline refreshes twice every day, so live figures such as subscription and GMP stay current through an IPO’s open window.

How We Calculate Key Numbers

  • GMP — where multiple credible sources report a premium, we show a representative (averaged) figure rather than any single source’s number.
  • P/E ratio — we compute price-to-earnings on the upper price band and post-issue earnings, so it reflects what a new investor actually pays. We deliberately avoid misleading pre-issue figures.
  • Verdict — our IPO verdict is a structured signal derived from the data (GMP, subscription levels, valuation, and financial health). It is not a personal opinion, and it is never a buy or sell call.

About Grey Market Premium (GMP)

GMP is an unofficial and unregulated indicator of the premium at which IPO shares change hands in the grey market before listing. It reflects market sentiment, not a guarantee. It is not endorsed by SEBI or the exchanges, it changes daily, and it should never be the sole basis for an investment decision. We publish it for informational purposes only.

Accuracy & Corrections
